Diamond Valley College is organised into a Junior Sub-school and a Senior Sub-school.
Each sub-school consists of a team of home group teachers and co-ordinators
who manage and monitor student’s academic progress, welfare and
discipline. The sub school structure at Diamond Valley College enables
us to provide optimal opportunities for all students to achieve their
personal best in their learning. In our learning community there is an
emphasis on developing positive relations between students as well as
between staff and students.
Home group teachers work as a team to support the coordinators. In junior
levels, the Home group teacher will have classroom contact time with their
group. This allows them to support each student with their transition
into secondary school and provides them with the opportunity to get to
know each class member and their individual needs. Parents are encouraged
to contact Home group teachers by telephone or letter on any issues of
concern, particularly in relation to matters such as academic progress,
attendance and welfare.
This sub-school structure is supplemented by a team dedicated to student
welfare and career/ managed individual pathways. |
