High Achiever Program (HAP).

The Diamond Valley College High Achiever Program provides additional opportunities for high achieving students. It recognises a broad definition of achievement, embracing and encouraging excellence in all forms of intellectual, academic and creative endeavour.

Diamond Valley College’s program is designed to offer high achieving learners, who have been identified as very capable and committed, the opportunity to work in a challenging and stimulating environment with students of similar ability. The team of teachers delivering this program create learning situations that will allow these students to achieve their maximum potential and enable students to gain broader and deeper knowledge with the capacity for critical thinking.

Extension and Enrichment
Students’ requirements will be accommodated by a curriculum that will:

  • Offer a faster paced study structure which is non-repetitive
  • Provide opportunity to study more complex and in-depth content within a subject area
  • Enable students to work independently to achieve their academic potential
  • Provide the opportunity for students to interact with intellectual peers
  • Challenge by involvement in both individual, enquiry and collaborative learning projects
  • Develop positive self-esteem
  • Extend their powers of reasoning and logic by critical thinking activities
  • Encourage participation in a wide range of enrichment activities offered at the College
  • Develop links with programs provided by universities
